#BookishReads – 13 Reasons Why

Soul Alone by Hannah Baker

I meet your eyes
you don’t even see me
You hardly respond
when I whisper
hello
Could be my soul mate
two kindred spirits
Maybe we’re not
I guess we’ll never
know

My own mother
you carried me in you
Now you see nothing
but what I wear
People ask you
how I’m doing
You smile and nod
don’t let it end
there

Put me
underneath God’s sky and
know me
don’t just see me with your eyes
Take away
this mask of flesh and bone and
See me
for my soul

alone

13 Reasons Why

#BookishQuotes – Ruby Red

The first pair Opal and Amber are,
Agate sings in B flat, the wolf avatar,
A duet-solutio! - with Aquamarine.

Mighty Emerald next, with the lovely Citrine.
Number Eight is digestio, her stand is Jade fine.

E major's the key of the Black Tourmaline,
Sapphire sings in F major, and bright is her sheen.

Then almost at once comes Diamond alone,
Whose sign of the lion as Leo is known.

Projectio! Time flows on, both present and past.

Ruby red is the first and is also the last.

Welcome To My Diary Of Things

Welcome one and all to my blog! *clapping & dancing excitedly* So my love for writing began with personal essays and narratives and even poetry while in my baby stage up to my teens.

Fast-forward to adult me (30 and counting), who no longer writes interesting personal essays and creative narratives. Unfortunately, I’m not even sure I can anymore, but I intend to use this space to find out.

After all there’s no better way to know If you’ve still got it until you try. Particularly because I’ve been feeling the itch lately to express myself more in my writing.

So I’ve decided to do this by exploring more personal forms of writing, and while we’re at it, pick up my reading that’s been pummeled into the ground by adulthood and it’s unending demands.

Choose to live as beautifully and as freely as possible.

I’m not exactly sure what this blog will become in the future, but I’m super excited about finding out. So that’s all folks. Now you know the rest of the story…

Cheers to new beginnings!

Here is my very first attempt at haiku writing. I am honestly fascinated with modern poetry and just starting to learn about it. This was written in response to the image prompt☝🏽and word prompt – Envy. Hopefully, this will be a not-so-bad attempt at haiku writing.
